Procurement

Procurement involves purchase of goods and/or services at the best possible total cost of ownership, in the right quantity and quality, at the right time, in the right place for the direct benefit of the company. Procurement generally involves making buying decisions under conditions of scarcity.

The procurement team has commodity specialists and operational buyers. A commodity specialist is responsible to analyze and report various aspects of the Procurement process, while an operational buyer is responsible to analyze and resolve any issues in the purchasing function and would have to work with the Accounts Payable team to resolve any payment issues.
