Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of Brady's culture. For Brady, doing well and doing good goes together. CSR is a commitment by Brady towards the society to make a difference through various socially responsible initiatives.

HOPE, Brady India 's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative has a vision and objective of contributing and improving the society through consistent and sustainable activities. HOPE has selected to work on the areas like Child-Welfare, Education, Medical, Community Development and Rehabilitation.

HOPE has chosen Child-Welfare as a first step to this cause and has tied up with two Bangalore based NGOs.

• Sahasra Deepika International for Education - Institute for underprivileged children who need food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education.
• Shishu Mandir An Institute that has undertaken many social causes. Free education and food for the slum children is one of their activities and HOPE is associated with Shishu Mandir for this noble cause.

HOPE Updates

Feb 2010 : HOPE launched at Sahasra Deepika 

HOPE launched its initiative with the children of Sahasra Deepika. The event at Sahasra Deepika witnessed the involvement of an enthusiastic group that was concerned towards the cause. Children showcased their talent with various performances.

HOPE volunteers held many competitions for the children who participated enthusiastically and won many prizes, gifts, give-aways and goodies. With this, a special lunch for the children was also organized by HOPE.

March & Apr 2010 : HOPE conducts Fund Raising Campaign for Sahasra Deepika

Brady India conducted a “Fund Raising Campaign” throughout March & April to help meet the educational needs of Sahasra Deepika. Employees donated INR 55,000/- to Sahasra Deepika for School Books for the academic year.  In addition, Brady India matched employees’ generosity by donating School  Bags to Sahasra Deepika.

HOPE Volunteers donated funds and distributed school bags and goodies to the children.

May 2010 : HOPE participates at Sunfeast World 10K to support Sahasra Deepika

The Sunfeast World 10K Marathon in was held in Bangalore on 21 May 2010. This event was the platform for individuals, corporations and others to represent and raise funds for the NGOs they Support.

And yes, Brady India’s CSR Initiative, HOPE was a part of this event. Brady India sponsored towards the participation of 54 enthusiastic runners (volunteers) from both Plant and Shared Services  locations.

HOPE Team was on the track to support Sahasra Deepika. A few experienced and some first time runners from Brady put their best foot forward and showed the world at large that they care for their society. They were successful in setting their own records in both 10K and 5.7K categories.

June 2010 : HOPE celebrates World Environment Day

In June, Brady India observed World Environment Day at its Manufacturing & Shared Services locations. The Events & HOPE Teams together organized many events throughout the month and spread “Go Green” message.

Activities included sharing awareness on Global Warming, Saving Natural Resources, Planting saplings, Slogans on Recycled papers / collage.

"This was a unique and prideful experience," expressed Mr.  Karthikeyan S, Brady India Quality Manager. "Such activities infuse the sense of responsibility towards environment amongst people and we must continue doing it for the betterment of our environment", he added.

July 2010 & Aug 2010 : HOPE – launches its activities at Shishu Mandir

Along with Sahasra Deepika, HOPE is associated with another NGO, Shishu Mandir. A 27 years old NGO that works for under-privileged children and provides free food and education to around 200+ children, and shelter to some 30+ children. It also has a Vocational Training School that offers free Workshops in various fields which help children in raising their self-esteem.

In August , HOPE launched its activities at Shishu Mandir. It had organized many games, competitions for the children, who in turn enthusiastically participated and enjoyed all the moments with us. HOPE volunteers were equally passionate about bringing smiles to the children and fetching absolute joy out of this day. Children danced and entertained us.

Brady India sponsored special lunch, gifts/prizes for the winners and goodies for all the children.  This day also coincided with Indian Independence Day and the National Flag was hoisted by Operations – Manager, Mr. Sanjib Das at Shishu Mandir. 

On this occasion, Brady India donated sweaters with Brady Logo to all the children of Shishu Mandir.  “We at Brady, are committed to support Shishu Mandir through various programs planned by HOPE and we are sure this will help Shishu Mandir in its noble endeavor”, said Mr. Prasenjit Datta, Managing Director – Brady India.

Sep 2010 : HOPE – Celebrates Joy of Giving month.

In September, Brady India celebrated “Joy of Giving” month and held a campaign to collect Clothes and Toys (New & Old) for the children of Sahasra Deepika & Shishu Mandir.

Bradians generously participated. While some contributed new toys and clothes, others gave in the best of clothes & toys from their children’s wardrobes.  Volunteers segregated them age-wise, ironed and wrapped neatly and made it fit for gifting.  Accordingly, it was donated to Sahasra Deepika & Shishu Mandir.

Oct 2010 : HOPE – Announces Young Achiever Scholarship Award

Brady India announced “HOPE - Young Achiever Scholarship” award at Sahasra Deepika & Shishu Mandir. This entitles a cash prize of  INR 10001 to the top performers to each of these NGO in class 10th. 

Brady India believes that this should encourage the students even more to perform much better in their academics, and dare to visualize their dreams coming true.

Nov 2010 : HOPE – Celebrates Children’s Day at Sahasra Deepika

“Being a child is being fresh to a world that is fresh to you. Everywhere is wonderment and food for thought. The mind of a child sees only beauty until it is taught otherwise, feels only love until it is treated otherwise. So forget your worldly woes and bring out the child in you. Let’s celebrate Children’s Day along with the little ones at Sahasra Deepika.”

Through these forewords, HOPE invited volunteers to celebrate Children’s Day at Sahasra Deepika, on 21st November.  HOPE, came up with its thoughts and ideas of making the children laugh, laugh and laugh on their very own Special Day. 

Thus, a magic show was organized for the children of Sahasra Deepika. India’s youngest and renowned magician, Karun Krishna performed the magic and as promised to the children, they were amused, happy and laughed their hearts to the tricks and magic. Also the children relished special breakfast and goodies that were sponsored by Brady India.

Dec 2010 : HOPE supports Charuchetana

HOPE helps Charuchetana, Kolkata based NGO which is an art and culture centre for underprivileged children. It trains them in art and crafts to make them economically independent.  Along with pursuing art, craft, dance, mime and recitation, the children are also encouraged to continue formal education.  This effort has paid rich dividend and the kids are creating vibrant collages, water colors, stencils and pastels, sculptures and terracotta / paper Mache masks.

Their creations are displayed annually at an art exhibition hosted by Charuchetana. Also, a folk art camp is held simultaneously where these kids are taught various crafts by rural craftsmen. The finished goods are sold and proceeds from the sale are handed over to their parents by the organization.

To encourage their commitment towards the society and as a token of appreciation, Brady India had donated Rs.10,000/- to Charuchetana.

And while continuing our support to Charuchetana and to encourage their bundle of little talents, Brady India has purchased the New Year Greeting Cards from them. These greeting cards reflect the aspiration of underprivileged children for a wider horizon and showcase their creativity.
