B8088 UL94 VTM-0 Flame Retardant and Halogen Free Label
|
Why is there a need for flame retardant label? In recent years, there have been increasing concerns about potential fire hazared found in electronic items, especially devices that require portable power sources. B8088 has beeen specifically designed to possess self extingushing properties to help reduce the spread of fire if it is ignited in any way. When used in applications that require continous exposure to high temperatures or whereenhanced fire safety needs are critical, B8088 can help to save lives, prevent injuries, and prevent propoerty loss. In fact B8088 is certified with UL94 VTM-0 standard of flame retardancy: the most stringent standard of UL94 VTM testing. Why does the label need to be halogen free? Beside concerns about the flammability of the materials, there are also increasing concerns about halogenated plastic materisls releasing corrosive and toxic gases if ignited in fire. Many halogenated compounds are the material of choice today due to the abundance of raw material components, relatively low material cost and desirable product properties. However the corrosive elements found in halogenated compounds have the potential to damage electronics whever the smoke travels and the toxic elements can be potentially hazardous to humans as well. B8088 complies with international Electrochemical Commission [IEC] 61249-2-21 specification of halogen free definition. In addition, B8088 combines with Brady R6200 to give the user a complete halogen free solution to flame retardant labeling identification. Other features and benefits B8088 adopts a thin label construction of only 0.068 mm thick, inclusive of the addhesive. This feature not only gives the label the conformability to wrap around tight corners, it also provides the user with the possibility of meeting thin design requirements. Some Common Applications Battery Pack Labels, Electronic Insulator Labels, Component Identification, Power Cable and facilities identification. |
