A) General Information

BMP91

1. What are the items you would be receiving when you purchase the BMP®91 printer?
You will receive the following in the standard BMP®91 printer pack (BMP®91-E):
■ AC Power supply
■ USB connection cable
■ Tubing Mark Software CD and Printer Driver CD
■ Ribbon cartridge (1no)
■ Hard carrying Case
■ Printed Quick Start Guide and User Guide

2. Is the Lithium-Ion battery pack included?
The battery pack is only available with BMP®91 ES-BATT set or it can be purchase separately.

3. Is the 200m print ribbon necessary?
The 200m print ribbon cartridge helps to support extended and unattended operations.

4. Does BMP®91 has internal memory to store print templates and created artwork?
The BMP®91 can store up to 50 tubing artworks, 50 label artworks, 20 tubing templates and 20 label templates.

5. Does BMP®91 printer supports external storage devices such as USB?
Yes. BMP®91 printer supports the use of external USB devices.

6. What are the type of file does BMP®91 printer supports?
BMP®91 supports both BDF and CSV formats.



B) Printing with the BMP®91

7. What type of print media is supported the BMP®91 Tubing and Label printer?
The BMP®91 printer supports printing on four main types of media: PVC tubing, heat-shrink tubing, heat-shrink tube cartridges and label cartridges.

8. Besides the listed print media, would I be able to print customized or my preferred materials with BMP®91?
At the moment, BMP®91 can only support the listed materials.

9. How should we load the different print medias into BMP®91?
The PVC and heat-shrink tubing are fed into the printer externally while the label / heat-shrink tubing cartridges are loaded into the printer. For more details, please refer to the User’s Guide.

10. What is the print speed of BMP®91 printer?
The print speed is 35pcs/min (tube 20mm/tag) and 25mm/sec for label.

11. What happens if printing is interrupted because it ran out of print ribbon or print media (adhesive label / heatsink tubing / PVC tubing)?
The print job will resume from the point of interruption once new print cartridge or print media is installed.

12. What is the background printing mode?
The BMP®91 Tubing and Label printer allows you to commence on a new job while printing the current. You do not need to wait for current job to complete before working on a new job, reducing the processing time required. BMP®91 Tubing and Label Printer Frequently Asked Questions

13. Is downtime required for BMP®91 printer after long hours of usage to avoid over-heating of the print head?
This is not required as its robust industry design makes BMP®91 suitable for long hours of usage.

C) Using BMP®91 with Tubing Mark Software


14. Can I connect the BMP®91 printer to my PC using Tubing Mark Software?
Yes. The Tubing Mark Software makes editing easier for printing with the BMP®91.

15. What operating systems can the BMP®91 printer support?
It can support Windows® XP, Windows® 2003 (server), Windows® Vista and Windows® 7.


D) Using BMP®91 with Optional Battery Pack


16. What is the battery life of the optional battery pack?
Once it is fully charged, the optional battery pack is able to support up to 2 hours of printing.

17. Can I use the printer while charging the battery pack?
Yes. You may use the printer while charging the battery pack at the same time.

18. Can I charge the battery if it is not installed in the printer?
Yes. You may charge the battery pack even if it is not installed in BMP®91.

19. Can I charge the battery if the printer is connected to the computer?
You cannot charge the battery when BMP®91 is connected to the computer.


E) Maintenance and Repair


20. How frequent do I have to clean the printer?
The cleaning frequency tends to varies and factors such as usage volume, usage venue and storage condition have to be considered. To ensure that the printer is well maintained, please refer to the User’s Guide for complete details on cleaning and maintaining the BMP®91.

21. If repair and replacement is required, who should I contact?
You may contact your local authorized distributor or Brady Technical Support for more details on repair and replacement services.
